World Events

Couple  found buried in garden in Mansfield. They have been missing since 1998. 

Pizza Delivery driver on his last shift was stabbed to death.

Phone hacking pair Andy Coulson and Rebecca  Brookes exposed as having an affair in their trial.

Canoeist found in Canada missing for 3 months after a bear took his food and equipment.

Sport

Arsenal 5 points clear in Premiership. 

Man City beat Norwich 7 – 0

England beat Ireland  42 – 0 at Rugby League.

England beat  Australia 20-13 at Rugby Union.

Pies

?????   Pale imitation of a Granges’s pie. Badly glazed and anaemic. Nice coarse meat and tasty. More spice and afterburn needed.

Richard   A Broster’s pie. Lovely coarse meat. Nice jelly, deep well filled pie. Pale pastry. Enjoyed it.

Score   8.5/10

Luke   Quite liked it. Dense meat.More jelly needed. More colour in the pastry needed.

Tim   Pale soggy pastry, slimy, coarse meat. Salty but not much other spice. Reasonable amount of jelly.

Peter   Pale big pie. Well filled, not much jelly. Needed more spice. Not fresh, disappointed.

Sport

AP McCoy , jump jockey  wins for the 4000th time. An all-time record.

England Rugby league beat Fiji.

South Africa beat Wales at Rugby Union.

England beat Argentina in Ruby Union.

Pies

Peter   Soft pastry, not fresh. Well filled with meat that lacked seasoning. Under whelming.

Score   5.5 /10

Malcolm   Crust nice and plyable. Generous filling of meat. Needed more pepper. Good jelly but not enough of it.

Score   6.5/10

Howard   Small but good looking pie. Soft pastry, well filled with meat that lacked taste. Overwhelming taste of lard.

Score   5.0/10

William   Thick soft pastry, well filled. Lacked seasoning. Did not live up to the expectations of the seller!

Luke   Pastry was soft, Coarse,unseasoned meat.

Score   5.5/10

Tim   Thin soggy greasy pastry. Meat was thick and greasy.  Not tasted a pie that bad in a long time. I will give it 1 for presentation.

Mark   Soft pastry, yesterday’s pie. No jelly, pepper or taste. Very bland.

Jack Straw says Labour got it wrong on East European immigration.

Sport

Sachin Tendulkar Indian batsman retires, Worlds best ever.

England lose 2 – 0 to Chile.

England lose to New Zealand in Rugby Union.

Peter   Crispy thin pastry. Very well filled substantial pie, perhaps the meat was a little too tightly packed. Tasty, moist and just the right amount of jelly.

Kevin   Broster’s pie? Liked it. Lots of pepper. Giant of a pie.

Score   9.0/10

Richard   Big pie and well packed. Struggled eating it. Cold jelly. Needed more spice.

Score   7.0/10

Howard   Nice looker, most of pastry was crisp. Well packed with meat. Salty and lots of pepper. Too much jelly.

Rev Flowers, Chairman of the Co-op bank  filmed by a rent boy drug dealer buying crack cocaine and crystal meth. He has also been found to have fiddled expenses and viewed porn on the Council’s computer (Bradfords). Allegedly a friend of Sir Cyril Smith MP !

50th anniversary of the assassination of JFK and start of Dr Who. 

Pilot at Leeds Bradford found 3x over the alcohol flight limit. Another pilot in USA landed on the wrong runway and was too big to take off from it!

Three women rescued from a house they have been held in for over 30years. One was apparently born in captivity.

Sport

South Africa beat Scotland at Rugby. Australia beat Scotland at Rugby.

England lost to New Zealand at Rugby League semi- final in the last kick of the match.

England getting beat by Australia at cricket.

Mark   Greasy bottom, yesterday’s pie. Meat tasted good. Lots of afterburn.

Kevin   Extremely fresh, crispy nutty pastry. Firm spicy meat. Lots of afterburn.Excellent pie.

Tim   Crispy crunchy pastry but too much of it. Plenty of pepper. Good meat.

Score   7.0/10

Peter   Very crisp short pastry. Very fresh. Jelly all down one side of the pastry. Tasty meat.

Australia thrash New Zealand at Rugby league 34 -2 in World Cup final.

Wales lost to Australia 26 – 30

Tim   Big and tasted as lardy as it looked. Meat was smooth and hard and tasteless. No afterburn.

Howard   Thank good ness I did not get Tim’s pie. Thick and crisp pastry. Slight cathedral dome. Plenty of meat. Tasty jelly. Meat tasted of Pork, lacked spice.

Score   8.0/10

Peter   Very big and well filled pie. Crisp and fresh pastry. Tasty and moist meat. First rate pie.

Score   9.0/10

Kevin   Took some eating . Lots of ultra fresh crunchy pastry. Packed full of tasty pork. Little bit of Jelly. Had afterburn. A good pie.
